Raphael B. trained as a geologist at the University of Lausanne, where he developed a fascination for cutting-edge approaches to environmental stewardship. After completing his studies, he set out to explore innovative conservation techniques around the globe—evaluating everything from biomimetic materials to community-led restoration models. Now based on one of Spain’s Atlantic isles, he combines fieldwork with remote research to uncover the most promising solutions for a warming planet. As a contributor to Planet Keeper, Raphael spends much of his time traveling to pilot projects and research stations, bringing first-hand reports of groundbreaking initiatives back to readers. Whether profiling a floating wetland experiment in northern Europe or mapping coral-safe mining techniques in the Pacific, he crafts vivid stories that highlight both the science and the human ingenuity driving our planet’s protection.
